Career Preparation

Graduate ready to launch your career

Career development is part of your academic experience from day one at IUPUI, and we have the resources to help you with every step of the process, from choosing a major to landing your first post-college job. But your biggest advantage? Preparing for your career in Indianapolis, the country’s fifteenth-largest city, where you’ll have the kind of opportunities you can find only in a major metropolitan area.

Nearly 91.7 percent of the undergraduates in the class of 2017 reported positive career outcomes, according to IUPUI’s First Destination Survey.

Step 2: Plan your career path

After you’re admitted to a degree-granting school, your school’s career services office will help you prepare for a career in your chosen field. Working with career services professionals who specialize in your field, you’ll get marketable experience through internships and other real-world opportunities. You’ll also network with professionals in your field and get guidance on writing your resume, giving a successful interview, and more.
