Investing in Indy’s Future
We are IU Indianapolis
Medicine
Expanding access to clinical trials
IU Indianapolis and Eli Lilly and Company have launched a five-year, $40 million collaboration to broaden access to clinical trials and cutting-edge therapies across Indiana, helping more patients participate in research for Alzheimer’s, diabetes, cancer, and other conditions. The partnership leverages IU’s clinical expertise and Lilly’s biopharmaceutical leadership to build a best-in-class innovation ecosystem, accelerate scientific discovery, and cultivate talent for the state’s growing life sciences workforce.
Sports journalism
Changing the game in sports media
Graduate students in IU Indianapolis’ Sports Capital Journalism Program gained real-world experience covering the Indiana Hoosiers’ Big Ten Championship from inside Lucas Oil Stadium, working alongside seasoned reporters at one of college sports’ biggest events. Their reporting not only builds professional skills but also strengthens Indiana’s media talent pipeline by connecting local stories with national audiences.
Innovation
Driving innovation in bone and joint health
The Indiana Musculoskeletal Health Partnership for the Advancement of Care and Treatment (IMPACT) brings IU Indianapolis researchers together with industry leaders to advance technologies, training, and solutions that improve musculoskeletal health and strengthen Indiana’s orthopedic sector. Through statewide collaboration with partners like Eli Lilly and Zimmer Biomet, the effort is expected to support a growing workforce and contribute more than $500 million in economic activity for the state.
